I was born on the 10th of November 1960 in Klagenfurt, Austria and like many other people in that region I grew up bilingual. My parents came from Slovenia and Austria. I visited the Slovenian grammar school in Klagenfurt, which was founded by my grandfather, the privy councilor Dr. Josko Tischler.
I was employed at my father’s law office in Klagenfurt after I passed my matriculation and finished my law studies in Graz. Before working as a lawyer I worked as an office employee in my father’s law office and after finishing the obliged judicial year at the regional and district court I took care of the Slovenian files. Already at that time I dealt with indemnification claims, collection claims and commercial law. Our law office always worked in a close relationship with the Slovenian law office “PRAVNA PISARNA” in Ljubljana. From that relationship resulted the founding of a network involving 35 offices in former Yugoslavia. All cases were dealt with directly at the respective law office and the correspondence and translations were run at the main office.

1990 I decided not to only work as an office employee in my father’s office but also as a lawyer in Yugoslavia. To make that possible I applied the Yugoslavian citizenship and later the Slovenian citizenship, I also always kept the Austrian passport. After I visited the interpreters’ school I became an acknowledged interpreter for German/Slovenian translations. Further law studies at the university of Ljubljana allowed me to work as a lawyer in Yugoslavia. Since the republic of Slovenia became independent I started working as a self-employed lawyer with the main office in Ljubljana. I then was registered as an European lawyer at the law society, we fulfilled all the conditions and another law office was opened in Klagenfurt, Austria.
